Mumbai: Bollywood actress Kajol enthusiastically took part in the ‘Sindoor Khela’ ceremony at the North Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja, accompanied by her daughter Nysa, sister Tanisha, and other family members.
The Durga Puja celebrations, organized by Kajol’s family for several decades, are set to conclude on Thursday with Vijayadashami.
In videos from the pandal, Kajol could be seen performing the rituals, which include applying ‘sindoor’ (vermilion) to Goddess Durga and offering prayers before bidding farewell to the deity. She looked radiant in a traditional white-and-red saree, while her daughter Nysa also participated in the ritual.
Several other celebrities joined the celebrations, including Rituparna Sengupta, Sumona Chakraborty, Khushi Dubey, and Anu Aggarwal. Notably, Kajol and Rituparna Sengupta playfully applied sindoor on each other as part of the tradition. Kajol also posed for photos with Nysa and Tanisha.
Rani Mukerji, who has been a regular at the pandal throughout the festival, was absent on Vijayadashami.
Throughout the festival, Kajol’s family has remained devoted to their annual tradition, celebrating each day with zeal and welcoming numerous celebrities seeking blessings. Earlier in the week, Ajay Devgn joined Kajol and Nysa at the pandal, dressed in a green kurta, and posed for family pictures with Kajol, Nysa, Tanisha, brother-in-law Ayan, and nephews Danish and Aaman Devgn.
Other notable attendees over the festival included Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Genelia Deshmukh, Twinkle Khanna, Anurag Basu, and Bipasha Basu.
