Kashmir Fruit Growers Delegation Meets LG Manoj Sinha Highlights Parcel Train and Welfare Issues

SRINAGAR: A delegation from the Kashmir Valley Fruit Growers Cum Dealers Union, led by Chairman Shri Bashir Ahmad Basheer, met Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today.

The delegation expressed their gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Lieutenant Governor Sinha for the new Parcel Train connecting Budgam to Adarsh Nagar, New Delhi. They also raised key concerns of fruit growers and traders in the valley, including smooth movement of fruit-laden trucks on National Highway-44 and 10-tyre trucks on the Mughal Road.

The Lieutenant Governor assured the delegation that necessary steps would be taken to address their issues. He stated that personnel and machinery have been deployed for the complete restoration of the National Highway and that stranded fruit-laden vehicles would be cleared as a priority. He also confirmed plans to establish railway freight terminals to facilitate fruit transportation across the valley.

Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor, was present during the meeting.
