Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Oversees Rescue Operations Following Kishtwar Cloudburst
SRINAGAR,: A devastating cloudburst struck the Chashoti area of Kishtwar District on Thursday, prompting immediate rescue and relief efforts.
Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha spoke with Hon’ble Home Minister Shri Amit Shah to brief him on the ongoing operations. The Union Home Minister assured full support and assistance.
The Lieutenant Governor is closely monitoring the situation and has directed officials from the Civil Administration, Police, Army, NDRF, and State Disaster Response Forces to intensify rescue and relief efforts, ensuring all affected individuals receive necessary aid. Men and machinery have been deployed at the site, additional teams have been rushed in, and the Air Force has been alerted for possible evacuation.
Expressing his condolences, the Lieutenant Governor said, “I want to assure all affected families that the Government stands shoulder to shoulder with them in this hour of crisis.”
On X, he posted:
“Anguished by cloudburst in Kishtwar. Condolences to bereaved families and prayers for quick recovery of the injured. Directed Civil, Police, Army, NDRF & SDRF officials to strengthen rescue and relief operations and ensure all possible assistance is provided.”
Rescue operations at Chashoti are ongoing with full deployment of resources, and the situation continues to be closely monitored.
