A worker engaged inside the Z-Morh tunnel died after being hit by a vehicle during maintenance activity on Saturday. According to officials, the incident occurred when a vehicle moving through the tunnel struck the labourer, leaving him with grievous injuries.
Fellow workers and project staff immediately rushed to his aid and shifted him to a nearby hospital; however, doctors declared him dead on arrival. The sudden mishap has caused shock among the workforce and project authorities.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the accident, including whether safety protocols and traffic restrictions inside the tunnel were adequately enforced.
Project authorities expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life and said strict safety measures will be reinforced to prevent such tragedies in the future. They extended condolences to the bereaved family and assured all possible support.
