Srinagar: JKPCC President Tariq Hameed Karra addressed the ongoing protests in Ladakh on Sunday. Speaking to the media, he attributed the unrest to five years of deceit and unfulfilled promises.

“The current agitation is the outcome of five years of deception and unfulfilled commitments,” Karra told reporters.

Discussing the Ladakh protests and the associated violence, Karra claimed that many of the current demonstrators were the same individuals who had celebrated the abrogation of Article 370 and had been leveraged by the government at that time.

“Today, we are addressing a highly sensitive and nationally significant issue: the situation in Ladakh. Four people have already lost their lives, and around 90 have been injured. Those protesting against the Government of India and the local administration are the same people who supported the abrogation of Article 370. Back then, they were content with the move,” Karra said.
