An Army soldier, Havildar Zubair Ahmad, tragically lost his life after being critically injured in a landmine explosion in the Putaha Khan Gali area of Trehgam in Kupwara district on Tuesday.
According to officials, the blast occurred during routine operations when Havildar Zubair Ahmad was struck by the explosion. He was immediately evacuated to a military hospital in Drugmulla for urgent medical care but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The army has initiated an inquiry into the incident, and security forces in the region remain on high alert as operations continue. Local authorities and military personnel expressed condolences to the bereaved family and reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding the area.
