Large Devotee Turnout in Kurukshetra for Guru Tegh Bahadur’s 350th Martyrdom Day

KURUKSHETRA, Nov 25 :Thousands of devotees gathered in Kurukshetra on Monday to observe the 350th martyrdom day of Guru Tegh Bahadur, paying homage to the ninth Sikh Guru whose sacrifice is remembered as a defining moment in the fight for religious freedom. The city witnessed heavy footfall from early morning as devotees from Haryana, Punjab, Delhi and other parts of the country visited gurdwaras and took part in special prayers and kirtan.

Commemorative events were held across the region, with spiritual discourses highlighting the Guru’s teachings of courage, compassion and steadfast commitment to humanity. Community kitchens were set up to serve langar to thousands of visitors, while processions carrying the Guru Granth Sahib moved through the city amid hymns and devotional singing.

Local authorities made extensive arrangements to manage the large influx of pilgrims, ensuring smooth traffic movement and adequate facilities throughout the day. Religious leaders who addressed the gatherings urged people to uphold the Guru’s message of harmony, tolerance and selfless service, calling his martyrdom a timeless reminder of standing firm against oppression.
