LG Attends Nagar Kirtan Commemorating 350 Years of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s Martyrdom

Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor today attended the Nagar Kirtan organized to mark the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the ninth Sikh Guru revered for his supreme sacrifice in defense of faith and human values. The event witnessed large participation from devotees, community leaders, and dignitaries.

Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor paid homage to Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, describing him as a beacon of courage, compassion, and spiritual strength. He emphasized that the Guru’s sacrifice continues to inspire generations to uphold the principles of religious freedom, unity, and justice.

The Nagar Kirtan procession, marked by devotional hymns and traditional displays, reflected the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of Sikhism. Participants carried the Guru Granth Sahib with reverence, accompanied by Panj Pyare and community volunteers.

The Lieutenant Governor reiterated the administration’s commitment to preserving the legacy of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and supporting initiatives that promote communal harmony and cultural inclusivity. He extended greetings to the Sikh community and urged youth to draw inspiration from the Guru’s teachings.

The commemoration concluded with prayers for peace, prosperity, and unity across the region.
