LEH/JAMMU: Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta on Thursday conveyed his heartfelt condolences over the tragic loss of lives caused by a severe cloudburst and subsequent flash floods in Chashoti hamlet of Kishtwar district, Jammu and Kashmir.
The sudden cloudburst triggered devastating flash floods in the remote mountain village, claiming at least 46 lives, including two CISF personnel, while many others remained trapped.
As night fell over Chashoti, rescue teams worked tirelessly to pull 167 people from the debris, with 38 of the rescued reported to be in critical condition, officials said.
