LG Manoj Sinha: J&K Police Playing Pivotal Role in Ensuring Peace and Driving Socio-Economic Growth
SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today lauded the Jammu and Kashmir Police for its multifaceted role in maintaining peace, upholding law and order, and contributing significantly to the Union Territory’s socio-economic transformation.
Speaking at the 10th All India Police Judo Cluster (Men & Women) – 2025, the Lieutenant Governor said, “J&K Police is not only fighting terrorism, maintaining law and order, and protecting citizens, but is also a crucial agent of socio-economic development. The force has ensured a peaceful and stable environment, paving the way for industrial growth and overall progress in the Union Territory.”
Asserting that terrorism is breathing its last in J&K, the LG said that peace has ushered in an era of unprecedented progress and prosperity for the people. “Security has improved remarkably across the country. The roots of left-wing extremism have been dismantled, and India is witnessing a new era of progress driven by rapid economic growth,” he added.






The LG commended the police, army, and CAPFs for dismantling terror networks, preventing cross-border infiltration, and maintaining internal security. He emphasized the need for intelligence-based kinetic operations and a comprehensive approach to address emerging security challenges.
Applauding the efforts of the J&K Police, the LG said the force has been instrumental in building a fear-free environment conducive to peace and development.
Highlighting the transformative role of sports, LG Sinha said it nurtures camaraderie, courage, character, equality, and peace among individuals and communities. “Sports is the universal language of unity that promotes inclusivity and mutual respect. Events like the All India Police Judo Cluster celebrate Unity in Diversity and showcase India’s rich cultural and social heritage,” he noted.
He urged the youth to cultivate compassion, courage, and commitment to the nation’s service, dedicating their talents to its progress.
The championship, hosted by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, features over 2,000 athletes competing in Judo, Wushu, Pencak Silat, Taekwondo, and Karate.
Among those present were DGP Nalin Prabhat, Special DG Coordination PHQ S.J.M. Gillani, ADGP Armed Anand Jain, senior officers from police and civil administration, representatives of sports associations, prominent sportspersons, and a large gathering of youth.
