LG Manoj Sinha delivers keynote address at International Seminar on Dr. Rahi Masoom Raza in Srinagar
Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha delivered the keynote address at an International Seminar organised on eminent writer Dr. Rahi Masoom Raza at the University of Kashmir.
Addressing noted literary personalities from India and abroad, the Lieutenant Governor described Dr. Rahi Masoom Raza as one of the greatest writers of his time who earned a revered place in India’s literary history.
“Dr. Rahi Masoom Raza was deeply rooted in the spiritual and cultural traditions of the country. He believed in a shared humanity that transcends individual differences and always championed interconnectedness, inclusivity, peaceful coexistence and harmony among diverse faiths,” said the Lieutenant Governor.




He added that Dr. Raza’s tangible and intangible legacy remains priceless — a beacon of inspiration for younger generations. “I believe the rich legacy of Dr. Rahi Masoom Raza will continue to guide our society towards progress and prosperity by fostering shared identity, social cohesion and valuable ideals,” LG Sinha said.
Highlighting the key challenges before society and the nation, the Lieutenant Governor emphasized the need to strengthen national identity and revive the wisdom of India’s priceless heritage to accelerate all-round development.
“Our cultural heritage can nurture a collective identity, strengthen resilience and promote solidarity among diverse communities, driving economic growth. We must learn from our past to gain self-confidence and allow the wisdom and ideals of history to guide us toward future opportunities for growth and innovation,” he stated.
The Lieutenant Governor also underlined the importance of blending tradition with technology to ensure inclusive and equitable development. “For holistic progress, we must combine traditional wisdom with modern advancements to create equal opportunities for all,” he said.
“Our sole aim is to foster peace and prosperity to realize the vision of Viksit Bharat,” he added.
The inaugural session was attended by Prof. Nilofer Khan, Vice Chancellor, University of Kashmir; Prof. Naveen Chandra Lohani, Vice Chancellor, Uttarakhand Open University; noted lyricist Shri Sameer Anjaan; Shri Brij Mohan Sharma, Principal Secretary, Culture Department; Shri Asif Azmi, Director, IDEA Communications and Convenor of the Seminar; Prof. Pervez Ahmed, Dean, Students’ Welfare, University of Kashmir; senior officials, distinguished literary figures, and a large number of students.
