LG Sinha Emphasizes Unity, Linguistic Diversity, and Youth Role in Building a Developed India
SRINAGAR: India will achieve robust development through peace, stability, and a strong spirit of unity and shared goals, said Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday. He was speaking at a national seminar on Integration in Indian Languages, organized by the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar in collaboration with Bharatiya Bhasha Samiti.
The Lieutenant Governor highlighted India’s rich linguistic landscape as a source of strength. “Hundreds of languages and dialects have helped build a cohesive society, driving transformation and development,” he said.
“Despite our diverse backgrounds, languages, and ideas, a common national identity unites us. We must harness the power of unity in diversity for nation-building. Hindi should continue to serve as a bridge connecting people from different linguistic backgrounds, while also motivating citizens to learn other languages, enhancing mutual cooperation and economic integration,” LG Sinha added.

He urged all sections of society to preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage embedded in Indian languages. Calling upon the youth, he said, “Transcend linguistic differences and unite to transform India into Viksit Bharat. Build a glorious and developed India by completely eliminating every trace of the colonial mindset.”
The Lieutenant Governor further stressed India’s global potential: “The 21st century is India’s century. It is written in stone. Consistent growth and productivity will make India a dominant global power.” He also encouraged young students to learn new languages, broaden perspectives, and drive innovation.
LG Sinha commended NIT Srinagar for establishing an Official Language Cell and organizing initiatives to promote Hindi. He felicitated writers, scholars, and researchers for their contributions to the development of India’s diverse languages.
Prominent attendees included Shri Atul Bhai Kothari, National Secretary of Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas; Prof. Binod Kumar Kanojia, Director of NIT Srinagar; Shri Anshul Garg, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir; Dr. GV Sundeep Chakravarthy, SSP Srinagar; along with faculty, students, literary figures, and scholars.
