Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha interacted with a delegation of senior officers from the Indian Armed Forces, Civil Services, and friendly foreign nations currently attending the course at the National Defence College.

During the interaction, the Lieutenant Governor highlighted that under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Operation Sindoor represented one of India’s most decisive military responses in recent history. He noted that the combination of strategic restraint and assertive action has established a clear new red line against terrorism.

“If India faces a terrorist attack in the future, it will be treated as an act of war, and a fitting response will be delivered. India has also made it clear that nuclear blackmail will not be tolerated, and precise, decisive action will target terrorist hideouts,” the Lieutenant Governor stated.

On the development of border areas in Jammu & Kashmir, he said the Prime Minister envisioned treating villages in forward areas as the ‘first village’ rather than the ‘last village’, underscoring their strategic importance as the nation’s first line of defence and the focus on their comprehensive development.

“We have followed a strategic approach that balances economic growth, security, and socio-cultural integration while developing border areas in Jammu and Kashmir. Robust connectivity has been established to promote trade and tourism. Many areas that remained without electricity since 1947 are now connected to the power grid and internet, significantly improving the quality of life,” he added.

The Lieutenant Governor concluded by emphasizing India’s timeless philosophy: “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – the world is one family,” which he said provides a guiding principle for universal brotherhood and global unity.
