LG Sinha Lauds J&K Police for Role in Nation-Building, Youth Empowerment & Community Engagement
SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today attended the closing ceremony of Jashn-e-Dal, a water sports festival organised by Jammu and Kashmir Police at Dal Lake, Srinagar.
In his address, the Lieutenant Governor congratulated the Jammu and Kashmir Police for its significant contribution to nation-building, upholding the rule of law, ensuring public safety, and combating terrorism.
“J&K Police’s proactive community engagement and efforts to empower youth are truly commendable. With integrity and dedication, it continues to safeguard the nation’s internal security,” he said.
The LG praised the Police for organising the annual sporting event at the iconic Dal Lake, highlighting its role in fostering unity, harmony, and camaraderie among athletes. “Events like Jashn-e-Dal, Pedal for Peace, marathons, football and cricket tournaments are much more than sports—they represent a new and positive chapter for our youth,” he remarked.

Calling upon athletes to inspire others, the LG urged the young generation to stay away from drugs and channel their energy into discipline, perseverance, and creativity. “Sports is a unifying force, and our youth must act as powerful agents of change,” he added.
The LG also encouraged young people to actively contribute to community development, climate change mitigation, and nation-building. He noted that public participation in conserving lakes, rivers, and natural resources in recent years has shown encouraging results, reminding youth that water bodies are integral to life and survival.
Announcing the upcoming Sewa Parv from September 17, 2025, the LG called upon youth to lead community service initiatives such as cleanliness drives, tree plantation, and helping vulnerable sections of society, alongside J&K Police.
