SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today handed over exhibitions from the International Buddhist Confederation and the National Museum to the Kalmyk Museum in Elista, Republic of Kalmykia, Russia.
The Lieutenant Governor said the initiative will help ensure that the teachings and significance of Lord Buddha, along with the visit of the sacred relics to Kalmykia, remain cherished by the people of this beautiful region.
“History, tradition, culture, and spiritual wisdom shape our identity, transmit ethical values across generations, and guide sustainable development. The preservation and education of heritage are vital, and I am truly delighted to see this museum embodying a miniature Kalmykia under one roof,” the Lieutenant Governor remarked.

Later, the Lieutenant Governor visited the National Library in Elista, named after Amur-Sanan, a distinguished Kalmyk writer and public figure. During the visit, he donated several books on Buddhism from his personal collection to the library.
