LG Manoj Sinha honors the recipients of the International Buddha Peace and Bharat Ratna Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar Awards in Srinagar

SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha felicitated the awardees of the International Buddha Peace Awards and Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Awards, organized by the Buddhanjali Research Foundation, at Srinagar. The event was also graced by Shri Ramdas Athawale, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment.

In his address, the Lieutenant Governor congratulated all awardees and praised their outstanding contributions to society. “The achievements of these awardees inspire us all. They exemplify courage, harmony, peace, selfless service, and nationalism, representing the very essence of India,” he said.

He urged the youth to uphold the noble values of Mahatma Buddha and Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar and contribute meaningfully to nation-building while serving humanity with dedication. “The greatest art of living lies in promoting the welfare of others. Social values like selfless service thrive only when guided by morality. It is our collective duty to instill pride in our rich cultural heritage,” he added.

Highlighting India’s progress, the Lieutenant Governor noted, “Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India is advancing towards becoming a developed nation. Along with self-reliance, a new confidence has emerged, positioning India as a beacon of hope for the world and a model for a prosperous and happy future.”

He also paid tribute to those who lost their lives in recent natural calamities in Jammu and Kashmir and reaffirmed the Government of India’s and UT Administration’s commitment to rehabilitating affected families. He emphasized that uplifting and empowering marginalized communities, women, and youth remains a priority.

The ceremony was attended by Ms. Neelam Sonker, former Member of Parliament; Shri Anshul Garg, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir; Shri Kailash Masoom, Chairman, Buddhanjali Research Foundation; Shri Akshay Labroo, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar; Shri Basharat Qayoom, Deputy Commissioner Pulwama; Dr. G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy, SSP Srinagar; Shri Dasbabu Jayswal; Shri Yuvraj Kumar, film actor; senior officials, and people from diverse walks of life.
