LG Manoj Sinha Felicitates Winners of ALOHA State Level Arithmetic Contest in Srinagar

SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha today felicitated the top performers and winners of the Abacus Learning of Higher Arithmetic (ALOHA) State Level Arithmetic Operations Contest at the University of Kashmir, Srinagar. The competition saw participation from over 1,500 students across Jammu & Kashmir.

Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor emphasized the critical role of youth in the growth of J&K and the nation. “Growth of J&K is directly linked with the growth of youth. They have a mission of transforming J&K and the nation. With resolve and dedication, they can complete this mission. We will ensure they have the right environment to become the most talented scholars, scientists, and innovators,” he said.

Congratulating the students for their exceptional arithmetic skills, LG Sinha lauded ALOHA for providing young minds an exciting platform to realize their potential. He observed, “Arithmetic operations are not merely numerical calculations. They lay the foundation for skills like problem-solving, critical thinking, and reasoning. These skills have far-reaching implications and drive young minds toward innovation, science, and technology. They also remind teachers that the ultimate goal of education is not just marks or certificates, but shaping the nation’s future.”

The Lieutenant Governor encouraged the youth to chart their own paths and make conscious choices to achieve new goals. “In an unpredictable world, innovation cannot be achieved by following the beaten track. The young generation should be more entrepreneurial, adventurous, creative, and adopt an out-of-the-box approach,” he said.

He also called for collective efforts to transform school campuses into hubs of curiosity and innovation, where classrooms serve as launchpads for dreams and independent research.

The felicitation ceremony was attended by Prof. Nilofer Khan, Vice Chancellor, University of Kashmir; Shri Loh Mun Sung, Founder, ALOHA International; Ms. Kiran Motwani, Director, ALOHA International; Shri Mubashir Aslam Wafai, Director, ALOHA J&K; senior officials from the Police and Civil Administration, heads of educational institutions, teachers, and students.
