LG Sinha Inaugurates New Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospital Centre in Srinagar
Srinagar : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today inaugurated the new Centre of Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospital at Qamarwari, Srinagar.
Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor emphasized the need for accessible and affordable healthcare for all and urged the medical fraternity to connect specialists with patients in rural and remote areas of Jammu & Kashmir.
“Over the past decade, modern technologies have revolutionized eye care, enabling faster and more accurate diagnoses and precise treatments. AI-powered systems now allow doctors to detect early signs of disease and eye problems. Dr. Agarwals Eye Centre and other hospitals must leverage these technologies to offer the same level of care to the people of J&K as is available in major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai,” LG Sinha said.




Highlighting the remarkable transformation of healthcare in the Union Territory, he added, “Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, we are committed to ensuring that every citizen has access to quality healthcare. The rapid expansion of both government and private healthcare infrastructure is paving the way for a healthier and prosperous future for all.”
The Lieutenant Governor also called upon hospitals to organize free eye check-up camps across J&K, particularly in rural and border areas, with a spirit of selfless service. He further stressed that telemedicine, virtual consultations, and digital examinations should be employed regularly to expand healthcare reach.
