LG Manoj Sinha inaugurates 200-bedded Amandeep BR Medicity Hospital in Srinagar
SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today inaugurated the 200-bedded Amandeep BR Medicity Hospital, established in collaboration with Ujala Cygnus Healthcare, at Tengpora-Bemina Bypass, Srinagar.
Speaking on the occasion, the Lt Governor emphasized the need for strong collaboration between the public and private sectors to enhance health outcomes and ensure equitable access to quality healthcare for all.
The newly inaugurated hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure and advanced medical technology, aimed at delivering world-class healthcare services to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Highlighting the remarkable transformation in the healthcare sector since 2020, the Lt Governor said that modern medical facilities have been developed across the UT, including the establishment of new hospitals, a record increase in MBBS and nursing seats, and the strengthening of healthcare delivery in remote areas through thousands of Health and Wellness Centres.
“Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, we have built new medical colleges, established thousands of Health and Wellness Centres, launched universal health insurance, and created a high-quality, affordable, and accessible healthcare system for the people of J&K. Nearly 90 percent of our population is now covered under the Rs 5 lakh Universal Health Coverage,” the Lt Governor said.
He further urged for the judicious utilisation of existing resources to meet patient needs with compassion, sensitivity, and dedication.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Shri Sunil Sharma, Leader of Opposition (LoP) in J&K Legislative Assembly; Dr Darakhshan Andrabi, Chairperson, J&K Waqf Board; Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Secretary, Health and Medical Education; Dr Amandeep Kaur, Founder Director, Amandeep Group of Hospitals; Shri Nitin Nag, Managing Director & CEO, Ujala Cygnus Healthcare Services; senior officials, doctors, and staff members of the hospital.
