LG Sinha Inaugurates Administrative Block, Amphitheatre at Central University of Kashmir
Ganderbal, August 20: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today inaugurated the Administrative Block and Amphitheatre at the Tulmulla Campus of Central University of Kashmir.
In his address, the Lt Governor underscored the crucial role of academicians and students in shaping India’s growth trajectory over the next two decades, with the ultimate goal of achieving Viksit Bharat @ 2047.

“Our growth model must prioritize the creation of human capital capable of driving economic growth. To achieve this, we need to discard the ‘Sab Chalta Hai’ attitude and bring revolutionary reforms in the outdated curriculum of colleges and universities,” he said.
Highlighting the need to transform India into a knowledge-driven economy, the Lt Governor emphasized investment in human capital, research, and innovation as top priorities. He urged universities to foster an engaging learning environment that promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, life skills, and innovation.
He further called for greater focus on interdisciplinary courses, noting that they not only nurture creativity and innovation but also instill social and moral responsibility among students.
“The university is the axis of development, with students as its periphery. Human development is never mechanical; it requires progressive institutions, dedicated teachers, and a vibrant learning atmosphere,” he remarked.
Pointing to the challenges of rapid technological change, the Lt Governor said the country needs human resources with exceptional qualities, equipped with lifelong learning skills and the ability to continuously re-skill and up-skill.
On the occasion, a 7-day induction programme for newly recruited faculty members of the Central University of Kashmir was also launched.
The event was attended by Vice Chancellor Prof. A. Ravindra Nath; Shri Rajiv Pandey, DIG Central Kashmir Range; Shri Jatin Kishore, Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal; along with HoDs, faculty, staff, and students of the university.
