LG Manoj Sinha meets Head of Republic of Kalmykia; discusses cultural and spiritual ties

SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today met His Excellency Mr. Batu Sergeyevich Khasikov, Head of the Republic of Kalmykia, Russia, and held discussions on strengthening cultural and spiritual ties between the two regions. The Lieutenant Governor expressed gratitude to His Excellency for facilitating the grand visit of the holy relics of Lord Buddha.

“The visit of the holy relics to this land stands as a testimony to the enduring bond between India and Russia. As our nations approach 80 years of diplomatic relations in 2027, India looks forward to celebrating this milestone through a series of bilateral events and activities,” the Lieutenant Governor said.

He further informed that an India Festival is being planned in Kalmykia in April 2026, assuring that every effort will be made to make the event a resounding success.
