LG Sinha Commits to Bridging Rural-Urban Divide in J&K
JAMMU: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today addressed the ‘Swachhata Vijayotsav’ organized by the Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj under ‘Sewa Parv’ in Jammu, reaffirming his commitment to bridging the gap between rural and urban areas of Jammu & Kashmir and ensuring inclusive prosperity.
Highlighting the Central Government’s performance over the last five to six years, the LG said it stands as the truest evidence of its dedication to the region. He emphasized the importance of cleanliness drives in promoting public health, community engagement, and the creation of happier, healthier villages.
“Initiatives in education, social welfare, rural and urban development, and healthcare are vital to building a just and inclusive society. We must overcome challenges to achieve the vision of a prosperous rural J&K,” he stated.






The Lieutenant Governor directed the launch of a dedicated environmental awareness campaign for rural areas and stressed that Sewa Parv should be integrated into daily life. He called for collective efforts to foster a unified national identity for the welfare and prosperity of all.
He further urged officials to tackle encroachments along water bodies and encouraged citizens to report violations of natural resources in their localities, emphasizing the need to unite in building a stronger, secure future.
On the occasion, Shri Sinha laid the foundation stones for GOBARdhan Biogas plants and Faecal Sludge Treatment Plants (FSTPs) under SBM (G) across multiple locations. He also interacted with Safai Mitras, felicitated Swachhagrahis, and released a documentary on Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2025 highlighting best sanitation practices.
