LG Sinha Honors J&K Police Martyrs at 20th Police Martyr’s Memorial Football Tournament

SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today paid tribute to the selfless service and supreme sacrifice of J&K Police martyrs, emphasizing their crucial role in ensuring security, stability, and a safe environment that fosters progress and prosperity in the Union Territory.

“The land of Jammu and Kashmir is steeped in the blood and sacrifice of our brave personnel from the J&K Police, Army, and CAPFs, who laid down their lives for the nation’s integrity. Those who speak the language of separatists and terrorists insult the sacrifices of our martyrs and hurt their souls. Strictest action under the law will be taken against such elements. Anyone who disrespects the sovereignty of India or the memory of our police martyrs will not be spared,” LG Sinha stated.

He further highlighted that Jammu and Kashmir stands as a symbol of the enduring tradition of sacrifice by the armed forces and law enforcement. “Preserving the memories of our martyrs is the responsibility not only of the forces but of the entire public. Our brave hearts gave their lives to realize the dreams of society. Peace, progress, and prosperity have been made possible by their ultimate sacrifice. While society can never fully repay this debt, it must honor our fallen heroes and support their families,” he said.

The Lieutenant Governor also commended the J&K Police for their efforts in youth empowerment through the Civic Action Program. During the ceremony, he interacted with the players and presented trophies and cash prizes to the winning and top-performing teams. In the finals, J&K Bank defeated Kashmir Avengers Football Club to clinch the title of the 20th J&K Police Martyr’s Memorial Football Tournament.

The event was attended by DGP Shri Nalin Prabhat; Shri S.J.M. Gillani, Special DG Coordination PHQ; ADGP Armed Shri Anand Jain; senior police and civil administration officials; members of the Football Association and local clubs; prominent sports personalities; and a large gathering of youth.
