Srinagar: India can achieve robust development through peace, stability, unity, and a strong collective identity, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said on Friday.

Speaking at a seminar on Integration in Indian Languages organised by the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar and Bharatiya Bhasha Samiti, Sinha highlighted India’s rich linguistic diversity as a key strength. “Despite varied languages, dialects, and ideas, a common national identity and shared consciousness unite us all. We must harness this unity in diversity for nation-building,” he said.

He stressed that Hindi should continue to act as a bridge among people of different linguistic backgrounds, motivating the learning of other languages and enhancing cooperation and economic integration. At the same time, he urged society to preserve and promote the cultural heritage embedded in India’s languages.

Calling upon the youth to rise above linguistic differences, Sinha said, “You must build a glorious and developed India by erasing every trace of colonial mindset.” He added that the world now looks to India with hope, asserting, “The 21st century is India’s century. Consistent growth and productivity will make India a dominant global power.”

Encouraging students to learn new languages, broaden their perspectives, and drive innovation, the Lieutenant Governor commended NIT Srinagar for establishing the Official Language Cell and promoting Hindi through various initiatives.
