Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for the advance release of the 21st installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Scheme for farmers in Jammu & Kashmir.
In a post on X, LG Sinha stated:
“I am deeply thankful to Hon’ble PM Shri @Narendramodi Ji and Hon’ble Union Minister Shri @ChouhanShivraj Ji for the advance release of the 21st installment of the PM-KISAN Scheme for J&K farmers.
Approximately Rs. 171 crore will be directly credited to the bank accounts of around 8.55 lakh eligible farmers today. This vital financial support will help our farmers sustain their livelihoods and accelerate recovery, enabling them to resume agricultural activities.
Our farmers are the backbone of the economy, laying the foundation for growth across sectors. The Government of India remains committed to providing all possible assistance to mitigate the impact of the worst floods in decades and ensure stability in the lives of those affected.”
