This seminar will deepen our understanding of linguistic unity and strengthen national integration,” he said.

Registrar Prof. Atikur Rehman highlighted that NIT Srinagar consistently promotes India’s linguistic and cultural richness, noting that the event will inspire the younger generation to appreciate linguistic diversity as a pillar of nation-building.

The seminar will feature keynote addresses, lectures, and panel discussions, exploring the interconnectedness of Indian languages. Discussions will focus on three themes: Unity in Indian languages and translation, skill development and technology, and one emotion, many languages, emphasizing how linguistic diversity strengthens social cohesion and cultural heritage.

The Rajbhasha Cell of NIT Srinagar, instrumental in implementing the Government of India’s Official Language Policy (Articles 343–351), has enhanced bilingual documentation under Section 3(3) of the Official Languages Act, 1963, from 0.05% to 75% in recent years.

Coinciding with Hindi Pakhwada (September 14–28), the seminar complements activities like essay writing, poetry recitation, debates, workshops, and quizzes, promoting Hindi in official work and daily communication. The event will also spotlight the Indian Language Committee, established under the National Education Policy 2020 to encourage the holistic development of Indian languages.
