Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday urged the country’s industrial ecosystem to actively support the rapid industrialisation of Jammu and Kashmir. He called on major companies, corporate houses, and MSMEs to pledge that the development of the Union Territory would be their personal responsibility.
“Big companies, corporate houses, and MSMEs must commit to making the industrial growth of Jammu and Kashmir their personal responsibility. The industrial ecosystem should step forward and contribute to the Union Territory’s rapid industrialisation,” Sinha said while addressing industry leaders at the 4th CII Northern Regional Council Meeting here.
He stressed that the nation’s leading industrial houses should invest in J&K, recognising their collective responsibility in ensuring the region’s complete integration and inclusive development.
The LG also highlighted the importance of a focused approach to boosting MSME productivity, expanding exports, and nurturing an innovation-driven economy. He noted that upcoming reforms will significantly benefit MSMEs and handicraft units, contributing to the vision of a self-reliant India.
Sinha further underscored the need for private investment in research and development, particularly in sectors such as defence, space, agriculture, and manufacturing.
