The Lieutenant Governor is scheduled to chair a high-level security review meeting in Jammu today, bringing together top officials from the police, civil administration, intelligence agencies, and security forces. The meeting aims to assess the prevailing security scenario in the region and review measures in place to ensure stability and preparedness.
Sources indicate that the LG will take stock of the current law-and-order situation, counter-terror operations, border security dynamics, and upcoming winter-related challenges. The review is also expected to focus on safeguarding vital installations, maintaining surveillance along sensitive areas, and enhancing coordination among various agencies.
Senior officers from the J&K Police, Army, CRPF, BSF, and intelligence units are likely to participate in the meeting. Discussions may also include strategies to ensure smooth conduct of administrative activities and public services during the season, along with evaluating recent developments in vulnerable districts.
The security review comes at a crucial time, given the evolving threat perception across Jammu and Kashmir. The LG is expected to issue fresh directives aimed at strengthening security grids and improving rapid response mechanisms.
