‘Mahavatar Narsimha’ to premiere soon on Netflix, OTT release date revealed

Mumbai: Ashwin Kumar’s Mahavatar Narsimha is now set to make its digital debut.

One of the year’s biggest releases, the film will premiere on Netflix on Friday, September 19, at 12:30 PM, the makers announced. “Bhakti shakti ka roop legi. Aa raha hai Mahavatar Narsimha. Watch Mahavatar Narsimha, out 19 September on Netflix,” read the official statement.

Netflix echoed the excitement, adding, “The roar of this lion can topple a kingdom.” The film will be available for streaming in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Originally released in theatres on July 25, 2025, Mahavatar Narsimha is the first chapter in the planned seven-part animated Mahavatar Cinematic Universe, inspired by the ten avatars of Lord Vishnu.

The film struck a chord with audiences across age groups, receiving glowing reviews on social media. Within just 10 days, it surpassed ₹100 crore at the global box office, making it India’s highest-grossing animated film.

Recently, the makers celebrated the 50-day theatrical run, sharing: “A glorious milestone etched in history. UNSTOPPABLE! 50 DAYS of #MahavatarNarsimha in theatres and still roaring across 200+ cinemas! Your unwavering love made this historic milestone possible.”

Directed by Ashwin Kumar and produced by Shilpaa Dhawan under Hombale Films, the movie narrates the tale of Lord Narasimha, the half-man, half-lion incarnation of Vishnu.

Hombale Films, best known for blockbusters like the KGF franchise and Kantara, is also gearing up to release Kantara: Chapter 1 in October this year.
