Sasaram: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday accused the BJP-led central government of endangering the Constitution and undermining people’s rights. Speaking at a rally during the launch of the ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Bihar’s Sasaram, he said the Congress has always stood for protecting citizens’ rights.
“As long as the BJP is in power, the Constitution remains under threat and people’s rights are unsafe. They are even trying to snatch away the right to vote, while the Election Commission acts like an agent of the Modi government,” Kharge alleged.
He further criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for praising the RSS, claiming, “The Prime Minister hails the RSS for serving the nation for 100 years, but history shows that the organisation collaborated with the British and supported forces opposed to India’s freedom struggle. Congress has always fought for people’s rights and will continue to do so.”
Kharge also asserted that the NDA government in Bihar would be “ousted by the people” in the upcoming assembly elections.
