Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kulgam district have arrested a man who had been evading arrest for the past seven years, officials said.
The accused, identified as Mohammad Fareed Bajard, a resident of Gundah Khawas in Rajouri district, was wanted in connection with a case registered at Yaripora Police Station.
“Continuing its intensified drive against absconders and proclaimed offenders, Kulgam Police have apprehended a wanted accused who had been on the run since 2018,” a police spokesperson said.
“Acting on specific intelligence, a police team tracked down and arrested the individual after sustained efforts. After completing the necessary legal formalities, the accused was produced before the court,” the spokesperson added.
