New Delhi: Celebrating a historic achievement, Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) President Rohit Pawar announced a cash reward of Rs 40 lakh for the Maharashtra women’s team following their triumphant win in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy.

This reward comes in addition to the Rs 40 lakh prize from the BCCI, taking the team’s total prize money to Rs 80 lakh. The felicitation ceremony, attended by MCA Apex Council members, honoured the players for their stellar performance and their contribution to Maharashtra cricket.

Congratulating the team and the support staff, Pawar said, “The Maharashtra women’s team has made the entire state proud. Their victory reflects their hard work, unity, and indomitable spirit. MCA remains committed to strengthening women’s cricket at every level.”

Maharashtra etched their name in history by clinching their first-ever Senior Women’s T20 Trophy, defeating Madhya Pradesh by 12 runs in the final at Lalbhai Contractor Stadium, Surat.

In a rain-curtailed contest reduced to 14 overs per side, Maharashtra posted 102/9, with key contributions from Tejal Hasabnis (30 off 24) and Gautami Naik (22 off 17). Crucial late runs from skipper Anuja Patil and Shweta Mane helped set a fighting total.

In reply, Madhya Pradesh managed 90/9, falling short by 12 runs. Maharashtra’s disciplined bowling—led by Ishita Khale (3/17) and Bhakti Mirajkar (3/19)—along with sharp fielding and astute captaincy, sealed the win.

This landmark victory stands as a proud moment for Maharashtra women’s cricket, reflecting the team’s perseverance, preparation, and consistent excellence throughout the season.
