Kishtwar: The Indian Army organized a comprehensive Medical and Veterinary Camp in the remote villages of Navapachchi and Bunda in the Kishtwar district of Jammu & Kashmir.

The camp was conducted with the dual objective of addressing the pressing healthcare challenges faced by the remote community and ensuring the well-being of their livestock, which plays a vital role in sustaining their livelihoods.

The team, comprising a doctor, nursing assistants from the Indian Army, along with doctors and healthcare professionals from the civil administration, provided free consultations, health check-ups, essential medicines, and nutritional supplements, along with raising awareness about hygiene and preventive healthcare. Veterinary specialists from the district Veterinary Husbandry conducted animal health check-ups, vaccinations, and deworming drives, in addition to providing valuable guidance on disease prevention and better animal husbandry practices.

The camp benefitted 388 locals and around 115 livestock, reflecting the Indian Army’s commitment to community service and holistic rural development. The initiative has been widely appreciated by the local community, who face challenges in accessing healthcare services due to the remoteness of the region. This Medical and Veterinary Camp under Operation Sadbhavana is a testament to the Indian Army’s dedication to enabling community welfare and its greater mission of fostering peace and harmony.
