Srinagar: PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday criticised the Jammu and Kashmir administration for dismissing two government employees over alleged terror links, saying such actions raise fears of a “larger agenda to disempower Muslims, especially Kashmiris.”

Her remarks came after Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha ordered the termination of two teachers — Ghulam Hussain and Majid Iqbal Dar — accused of supporting the banned terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

“Two more government employees have been sacked over alleged terror links without being given a chance to prove their innocence. This deepens concerns of a broader attempt to disempower Muslims, particularly in Kashmir,” Mufti said.

She further alleged that the administration’s approach reflects systemic bias. “First, they face marginalisation through discriminatory reservation policies, as evident from the recent disclosures on reservation certificates in J&K. Now, they suffer arbitrary dismissals where the judge, jury, and executioner are all on one side,” the former chief minister remarked.

According to official data, nearly 80 government employees have been dismissed under Article 311 of the Constitution by the LG-led administration over the past five years.
