Mumbai: Former Delhi captain Mithun Manhas was on Sunday elected as the new president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) during its Annual General Meeting (AGM) held here.

At 45, Manhas becomes the 37th president of the Board, succeeding Roger Binny, who stepped down last month after crossing the age cap of 70.

A former all-rounder, Manhas played 157 First-Class, 130 List A and 55 IPL matches between 1997-98 and 2016-17. His name was unanimously agreed upon earlier this month during an informal meeting of the Board’s key decision-makers in New Delhi.

With a prolific domestic career, Manhas amassed 9714 First-Class runs with 27 centuries, in addition to 4126 runs in List A cricket.
