New Delhi: BJP chief J P Nadda on Tuesday hailed the party’s victory in the Haryana assembly polls, saying people of the state rejected the Congress’ pitch for casteism, nepotism and dynastic politics, and voted for the BJP’s development model under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
Addressing BJP workers at the party headquarters here after the poll results were out, Nadda also hailed the party’s performance in Jammu and Kashmir, and said its vote share increased in the assembly polls as the people of the Union territory reposed faith in Modi’s leadership.
“Congress leaders were engaged in spreading lies but people did not pay any heed to them. They gave a mandate to the BJP for a third consecutive term in Haryana,” he said.
People have rejected the Congress’ pitch for casteism, nepotism and dynastic politics, and voted for the BJP’s development model, Nadda said and asked the party workers to stay united and ensure the party’s victory in the upcoming assembly polls in Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Delhi.
“Haryana has become the BJP’s stronghold under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership. The BJP is the most favourite party of the youth, farmers, Dalits and women in Haryana today. Haryana will now progress non-stop,” he added.
Nadda said the BJP’s victory in Haryana and increase in vote share in Jammu and Kashmir reflect the trust bestowed by the people in Prime Minister Modi.
Under Modi’s leadership, the BJP formed its government for two consecutive terms in Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh and three consecutive terms in Goa, he said.
The party is now set to form its government in Haryana for a third consecutive term, Nadda said, adding that the BJP is setting records one after the other under the leadership of Modi.
“This once again proves that ‘Modi hai toh mumkin hai (It is possible when Modi is there). And this is Modi’s guarantee,” Nadda said.
The BJP chief said that people are showing faith in Modi due to his “untiring” service to the country and efforts to bring change in their lives.
“We saw how the Congress promotes nepotism. Where there is Congress, there is corruption, commission (cut money) and criminalisation. The prime minister changed this trend and hit at the root of corruption and promoted development,” he said.
Modi has given the people of the country a “proactive, responsive and accountable government”, Nadda added.
Without naming the Aam Aadmi Party, the BJP chief took potshots at it over its performance in the Haryana assembly polls. “There is also a ‘kattar beiman (outright dishonest)’ party here which contested all the 90 assembly seats but got its deposits forfeited,” he said.
