PM Modi Thanks Kerala Voters for NDA Wins in Local Body Polls

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed gratitude to the people of Kerala for supporting the BJP-led NDA in the recently concluded local body elections. The NDA secured a historic victory in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation, winning 50 of the 101 seats and ending over four decades of Left Democratic Front (LDF) dominance.

In a message, the Prime Minister described the outcome as a watershed moment in Kerala’s politics, noting that the mandate reflects growing public confidence in the NDA’s ability to deliver governance and development. He thanked voters across the state who supported BJP and NDA candidates, saying their trust strengthens the alliance’s resolve to work for a “Vikasita Keralam” with opportunities for all.

The results marked a significant setback for the ruling LDF, which secured 29 seats, while the Congress-led UDF won 19. The victory in the state capital is seen as a major boost for the BJP ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, with party leaders calling it a turning point in Kerala’s political landscape.

Celebrations were held by BJP workers in Thiruvananthapuram, while leaders from across the political spectrum acknowledged the significance of the outcome. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor termed the result “the beauty of democracy,” congratulating the BJP for its performance.
