Udhampur: A mother and son from Kishtwar lost their lives in a tragic road accident on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway near Tikri, Udhampur, while the father was injured.
The deceased have been identified as Shafiqa Begum, wife of Abdul Kabir Zargar, and their 33-year-old son Asif Kabir Zargar, both residents of Kishtwar.
The mishap occurred when their Baleno car (JK02CH-5448), traveling from Jammu towards Kishtwar, went out of control and crashed into a roadside parapet, officials said.
Abdul Kabir Zargar, a retired NHPC employee, sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment at Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu.
Police have registered a case, and investigations are underway to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
