MoU Signed for Establishment of Cultural Heritage Centre in Thalwal, Jammu

JAMMU: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the planning, design, and construction of a Cultural Heritage Centre at Village Thalwal, Jammu, by NBCC was signed today in the presence of Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar.

The MoU was executed between Dr. Arvind Karwani, Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (M) J&K, representing the Divisional Commissioner Jammu, and Mohammad Tariq, General Manager (Engg.) from the National Buildings Construction Corporation Limited (NBCC).

The project involves the development of the Bhadrakali Temple, situated on the banks of the Nikki Tawi River in Thalwal, into a Cultural Heritage Centre. The initiative is being funded by NHPC under CSR through the office of the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, at a total cost of Rs 660.41 lakh.

The project aims to preserve the history and traditions of the region, providing a tangible connection to past generations while enabling future generations to appreciate their cultural heritage.

Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar urged NBCC, the executing agency, to expedite the tendering process so that the project could commence at the earliest.
