DODA, : The Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Doda, under the directions of Transport Commissioner Vishesh Paul Mahajan and Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh, on Saturday conducted a special enforcement drive in Doda town to curb traffic violations.
The drive was supervised by Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Rajesh Gupta. As many as 205 vehicles were checked of which 54 were challaned for different offences. Additionally, 6 vehicles were seized for serious violations, and an on-the-spot penalty of ₹67,500 was recovered.
The drive focused on violations such as riding without helmets, overcharging by three-wheeler auto-rickshaws, and illegal parking.
The ARTO urged citizens to cooperate by following traffic rules to avoid penalties and ensure a safer, smoother commuting experience. The department remains steadfast in its mission to establish a disciplined traffic system while reducing accidents and violations.
