Nagrota Records Over 65% Voter Turnout, Budgam Reaches 43% By 3 PM In J&K Bypolls

JAMMU: Voting progressed steadily across Jammu & Kashmir’s Nagrota and Budgam constituencies on Tuesday, with both seats recording robust turnouts by 3 p.m., according to official data.

In Nagrota Assembly Constituency (AC-77), voter turnout reached approximately 65.14% by 3 p.m., indicating enthusiastic participation from the electorate early in the day.

Budgam Assembly Constituency (AC-27) recorded a turnout of 42.64% around the same time, with officials anticipating a further rise as polling continued.

Despite the chilly weather in several areas, voters turned up in consistent numbers. Polling officials reported that voting remained peaceful and orderly, with security forces maintaining a smooth process throughout both constituencies.

A total of 17 candidates are contesting from these seats, including National Conference’s Aga Syed Mehmood, PDP’s Aga Syed Muntazir, and BJP’s Aga Syed Mohsin, among others.
