Nagrota registers 34.47% voter turnout, Budgam 21.74% by 11 AM in J&K bypolls

Srinagar: Voting progressed steadily across Jammu and Kashmir’s Nagrota and Budgam constituencies on Tuesday morning, with both recording notable turnout figures by 11 a.m., according to official data.

The Nagrota Assembly Constituency (AC-77) reported a voter turnout of 34.47% by 11 a.m., indicating an enthusiastic response from voters in the early hours of polling. In contrast, the Budgam Assembly Constituency (AC-27) recorded a turnout of 21.74% during the same period, with officials expressing optimism that participation would increase as the day advances.

Polling officials noted that despite the cold weather in several areas, voters continued to reach polling stations in steady numbers. Security forces, they said, have ensured peaceful and orderly polling across both constituencies.

A total of 17 candidates are in the fray, including National Conference’s Aga Syed Mehmood, PDP’s Aga Syed Muntazir, and BJP’s Aga Syed Mohsin, among others.
