Mumbai: Shooting has officially begun for Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s upcoming film Blind Babu, directed by K Ravi Varma.
Zee Studios, the film’s production and distribution company, announced the start of the shoot on Tuesday via their Instagram handle. A series of pictures shared by the studio showed the director and Nawazuddin posing with the film’s clapboard, marking the beginning of the project.
Veteran actors Pavan Malhotra and Zakir Hussain are also set to play significant roles in the film. In the photos, Nawazuddin and Pavan were seen alongside the director, giving fans a first glimpse of the ensemble. Zee Studios captioned the post, “Ab bomb phatega ya kuch aur? Get ready for the chaos that will trap you in edge-of-the-seat suspense, but with dark comic relief. The journey of Blind Babu begins now!”
In addition to Blind Babu, Nawazuddin will also appear in Maddock Films’ upcoming release Thama, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna. In this film, he takes on a negative role as the character Yakshasan – Andhere ka Badshah. Character posters recently released show him with long hair, radiating a menacing and devilish aura.
Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar of Munjya fame, Thama is produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik under the Maddock Films banner, with a script penned by Niren Bhatt, Suresh Mathew, and Arun Fulara. The film is slated for a Diwali 2025 release.
