The makers of the acclaimed crime thriller Raat Akeli Hai have officially announced its much-awaited sequel, titled Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is set to return as Inspector Jatil Yadav, a role he describes as “close to my heart.” Sharing his excitement, the actor said, “Jatil Yadav is flawed, restless, and relentless in his pursuit of justice. In The Bansal Murders, he faces a case that challenges everything he stands for. Smita and Honey have created a world that feels raw and authentic, where every clue conceals a deeper secret. Coming back as Jatil Yadav feels like returning to unfinished business. I’m thankful to RSVP, MacGuffin Pictures, and Netflix for allowing me to explore new dimensions of this character.”

Announcing the sequel on Instagram, Netflix teased, “Ek raat, ek raaz aur ek hatyakand. Inspector Jatil Yadav is back — and the stakes are higher than ever.”

Directed by Honey Trehan, the film brings back Nawazuddin Siddiqui as the sharp and unyielding Inspector Yadav, alongside an ensemble cast including Chitrangada Singh, Rajat Kapoor, Deepti Naval, Ila Arun, Revathy, Akhilendra Mishra, Priyanka Setia, Sanjay Kapoor, and Radhika Apte.

Set several years after the events of the 2020 original, Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders follows Jatil Yadav as he investigates a brutal killing that unravels dark secrets buried deep within an influential family. As the mystery deepens, Yadav finds himself walking a dangerous line between truth and consequence, confronting layers of deceit that test his own moral compass.

The film will make its world premiere at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa this November before streaming soon on Netflix.
