Lt Gen Singh’s visit to the Baramulla Garrison held special significance, as he had earlier commanded the distinguished Dagger Division in the region, according to a Defence spokesperson.

The day began with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the Dagger War Memorial, where the DG NCC paid tribute to soldiers who sacrificed their lives in service to the nation. The event featured a ceremonial presentation of arms by cadets of the 3 J&K Battalion, NCC, in a moving homage to the fallen heroes.

During his address, Lt Gen Singh also highlighted efforts to incorporate modern technologies into NCC training and curriculum, alongside increased focus on social sector initiatives aimed at nurturing responsible and patriotic citizens.

Outstanding NCC cadets, ANOs, and PI staff were honored for their achievements in NCC activities, sports, and their notable contributions during Operation Sindoor.
