New Delhi: State-run NHAI announced on Friday that it will install project information signboards with QR codes along National Highway stretches to provide commuters with key details and emergency contacts.
According to NHAI, these vertical QR code signboards will display project-specific information, including the highway number, chainage, and contact details for the highway patrol, toll managers, resident engineers, along with the emergency helpline number 1033.
The signboards are set to be installed at strategic locations such as wayside amenities, rest areas, toll plazas, truck lay-bys, and at the start and end points of highways.
NHAI said the QR code signboards will enhance road safety by offering easier access to emergency and local information, while also improving commuter experience and raising awareness about National Highways across the country.
