New Delhi, Dec 02: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday carried out extensive searches in Jammu & Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh in connection with the Delhi car blast case, intensifying its probe into suspected terror links. The coordinated raids were conducted at multiple locations in Srinagar, Anantnag, and Lucknow.
NIA officials confirmed that the searches targeted premises linked to individuals suspected of providing logistical support for the blast. Several incriminating documents, digital devices, and cash were seized during the operation. “These searches are part of our ongoing investigation to uncover the wider network behind the incident,” said NIA spokesperson Sanjay Kumar.
In Jammu & Kashmir, raids were conducted at the residences of suspected operatives in Srinagar and Anantnag. Local police assisted the NIA teams, ensuring tight security around the search sites. In Uttar Pradesh, the agency focused on Lucknow and adjoining districts, where suspected associates were believed to be hiding.
Officials revealed that the Delhi car blast case, registered earlier this year, is being probed under sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. Investigators are examining possible links to cross-border terror outfits and sleeper cells operating in northern India.
Senior NIA officer Rajesh Singh stated, “Our teams are working round the clock to trace the masterminds and financiers of this attack. The evidence collected today will help us piece together the larger conspiracy.”
Security experts, including former DGP of Jammu & Kashmir S.P. Vaid, noted that the searches highlight the seriousness of the threat. “Such blasts are not isolated incidents. They are part of a broader attempt to destabilize peace and security,” he said.
The NIA has assured that further searches and arrests will follow as the investigation progresses. Authorities reiterated their commitment to bringing all those involved in the Delhi car blast to justice.
