New Delhi, Dec 5: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested four persons in a multi‑state crackdown on an illegal arms and ammunition trafficking network, officials said on Friday.
The arrests were made during coordinated raids across several states as part of an ongoing investigation into the supply and circulation of prohibited weapons. Officials said the operation targeted individuals suspected of facilitating the procurement and distribution of arms through organised channels.
Searches at multiple locations led to the recovery of incriminating documents, digital devices, and materials linked to the trafficking racket. The seized items are being examined to trace the wider network and identify other associates involved in the illegal trade.
Authorities said the crackdown is part of a larger effort to dismantle organised arms trafficking groups that pose a threat to national security. The arrested individuals are being questioned, and further arrests are likely as the investigation progresses.
