Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Thursday reviewed the progress of a major highway project in Gujarat, directing officials and contractors to ensure timely and high-quality execution. During the visit, Gadkari assessed on-ground construction work, inspected key stretches of the alignment, and held discussions with project authorities on pending issues and bottlenecks.

The Minister emphasised the need for accelerated pace and strict adherence to safety and environmental norms, noting that the project holds significant importance for boosting regional connectivity and reducing travel time for commuters and freight movement. He also called for the deployment of advanced technology and efficient coordination among implementing agencies to achieve the targeted milestones.

Gadkari assured full support from the Ministry to resolve land acquisition concerns, utility shifting challenges and other administrative matters that could delay completion. He urged officials to maintain transparency and ensure that the work meets national quality standards.

The review meeting was attended by senior officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), state government representatives and project engineers. The Minister reiterated that the Government remains committed to strengthening road infrastructure across the country through fast-tracked projects and sustainable development practices.
