Srinagar, Nov 25: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday dismissed circulating rumours of a 20% increase in electricity rates during peak hours, clarifying that there is no proposal under consideration for such a hike. He urged the public not to be misled by unverified information.

The Chief Minister emphasised that the government is committed to ensuring affordable and reliable power supply for all consumers and is actively working to improve the electricity distribution system across the region.
